Wilfrid Laurier University's incubator in Lazaridis Hall, Waterloo, for Laurier students, alumni and community members turning an idea into a business.

StartUp Lab is the incubator of Laurier's Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. Laurier students, alumni and community members can apply, and a team can include people from other schools or from the community. People who want to join an existing venture and bring their skills can apply too.

You do not need a business plan, but you need a clear idea of the problem you want to solve. Entry is competitive, and you apply with an online form.

A venture moves through four phases: Discovery (two to four months), Idea (four to eight months), Build (eight to 12 months) and Growth (a year or more). Its Waterloo office is on the first floor of Lazaridis Hall, open 8:30am to 4:30pm. It also runs a lab in Brantford and supports students at the Milton campus.
