51 new jobs this week and a Linux group turns 25
The Weekly for Sep 28 to Oct 4
Morning!
Hiring jumped this week. Companies on Builderloo posted 51 new jobs, a normal week is about 29.
Before you get excited, 55 jobs came down in the same week. Maybe they're getting filled. Maybe not. I'll keep an eye on it.
If you're looking, 110 of the 327 open roles are here in the region or remote in Canada.
Who's hiring
Magnet Forensics is still on top, with BinSentry close behind.
Hiring for the first time
ETAS posted its first jobs since we started checking its careers page. Tulip and Sera4 got going too.

Qidni Labs, a Velocity company, is building a portable dialysis machine that uses almost no water. The federal government is putting in up to $12.5 million, half of a $25 million push to finish the design, start making it in Ontario and run clinical studies.

Worth a read
The Startup Barn update is the one I'd read first. Jesse Rodgers counted more than 100 tech events in the region in September, and nobody was running the whole thing.

Over on the forum
rayyan says Builderloo is super cool. I didn't pay them, I promise.
Building something? Post it with a title that starts with Show: and it goes on the Show list.
What changed on the site
A lot shipped this week. The big one: press Follow on any startup's page and you get an email the day it posts a role, makes the news or lists an event. Every job and event has its own page now, and there are RSS feeds for all of it. This email got a rewrite too.
Everything that changed is on the forum. Found a bug or want something added? Comment there.
That's the week. Catch you next Monday.
