A Toronto venture firm that backs women-led tech companies at the seed stage, across Canada and the US.

StandUp Ventures is a Toronto venture firm that invests in technology companies at the seed stage. Each one has at least one woman in a C-level role who holds an equitable amount of founding ownership. Managing Director Michelle McBane launched the firm, and it has funded 38 companies from two funds.

It aims to help companies get from seed to their Series A milestones. Its founders join a peer community with quarterly events, a Slack group and mentorship matching, and get introductions to customers, hires and later investors.

Founders can apply through the funding application on its site, or email info@standupvc.com. It asks founders to reach out once they have an investor pitch and a product in market, and says a warm introduction from a co-investor, founder or advisor helps.
