A lot shipped this week. Here's what you'll notice. New - Follow a startup. Press Follow on any startup's page and you get one email a day when it posts a role, makes the news or lists an event. No email on a quiet day. - Every job and every event has its own page, so you can share one role or one meetup. - Jobs by city: builderloo.ca/jobs/kitchener, /waterloo, /cambridge and /remote. Events by format: builderloo.ca/events/hackathons and /meetups. - RSS feeds for news, events, jobs, new startups, the forum and The Weekly, all listed at builderloo.ca/feeds. - A privacy policy and terms of use, linked in the footer. The Weekly - It's written to you now, in short paragraphs, with sections for who's hiring, companies hiring for the first time, new startups, the coming week's events, funding, and the best posts from this forum. - Who's hiring has a chart, and shows which companies added or cut open roles. - It reads better on a phone. - The RSS feed carries the whole issue. - Signed in? Subscribing is one click. - Reply to any issue and it reaches me. Better data - We now read the blog of every listed company that has a feed. Big news, like a launch or a raise, goes on /news. The rest stays on the company's page. - New sources: Graphite Ventures' portfolio news, and events from Wygo. - A story or event links to a startup only when it's about that startup. - An event that moved its time shows once, not twice. - Search finds a startup when your words differ in form or order from its name. "transformer labs" now finds Transformer Lab. Faster and tidier - The server builds each page, so it shows up right away, before the scripts load. - Waiting looks the same everywhere: three keys pressing, and a list keeps its rows while it refreshes. - The startup filters take less room, so results show right after a search. - A new About page, and the MCP page now walks you through setup for your client. - Contact details found on company sites are no longer public. - New accounts get their verification email at sign-up. - Builders Club is on the community page and in the directory.
