No cameras. Nothing to wear. Just peace of mind.
Pontosense builds radar sensing technology that helps older adults live safer, longer and better in their own homes. Our technology is deployed in 24 countries. Silvie, our consumer product, is bringing this technology directly to families, alongside leading home care brands and telecom partners.
One app. Every family. That's the job.
Why Now
The Silvie app is how families set up their sensors, stay connected with loved ones, and know that help is there when it matters. We are building an experience that makes sophisticated technology feel effortless.
Most safety products sell fear. Our app should feel like relief.
We're looking for a Product Engineer who loves building great software, cares about how people experience it, and is excited to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI. You'll work directly with our Senior Product Manager and engineering team to bring that experience to life.
The Role
This is more than a traditional mobile development role. You'll build iOS and Android applications, contribute to UX and UI decisions, and help turn complex technology into simple, intuitive experiences. You'll have room to experiment, challenge assumptions and bring your own ideas to the table. AI tools are a natural part of how you work, not an occasional shortcut.
This is a building role. We care about what you create, not just the code you write.
What You'll Do
Build and improve iOS and Android applications using React Native and TypeScript.
Work closely with our Senior Product Manager to turn product ideas into intuitive, polished mobile experiences.
Contribute to UX and UI discussions, interactions and usability improvements.
Prototype, develop, test and ship features with speed and quality.
Use AI tools like ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code and Cursor to build smarter and faster.
Continuously improve app performance, reliability and user experience.
What Makes This Interesting
Two users, different needs: build experiences that reassure families while respecting older adults' independence and privacy.
Hardware meets software: bring together radar sensing, connected devices and mobile experiences.
Complex technology, simple UX: make sophisticated technology feel intuitive to everyday users.
Real-world consequences: build reliable experiences that families can trust when it matters most.
This Is for You If
You have roughly 3 to 5 years of software development experience, including shipping production React Native apps.
You enjoy building beautiful, responsive mobile interfaces, and you care how products look, feel and work.
You love AI tools and are constantly experimenting with new ways to build faster and better.
You enjoy turning ideas into working prototypes and real products.
You're curious, proactive and comfortable challenging ideas constructively.
You care about solving real user problems, not just completing tickets.
Technical Requirements
Must have
React Native and TypeScript: production apps shipped to the App Store and Google Play, strong TypeScript and modern React (hooks, navigation, state and data fetching), and familiarity with the New Architecture and Expo or bare workflows.
Native platform fluency: comfortable in Xcode and Android Studio, debugging native builds, integrating native modules, and handling permissions, push notifications and background behavior on iOS and Android.
UI craft and accessibility: polished, responsive, animated interfaces (for example Reanimated and design-system components) that are accessible by default, including dynamic type, screen readers and contrast, for users of all ages.
UX and design collaboration: read and critique Figma designs, turn them into pixel-accurate code, propose interaction improvements, and prototype quickly in Figma, in code or with AI tools to test with real users.
AI-assisted development: daily, hands-on use of tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT for scaffolding, refactoring, testing and prototyping, with the judgment to review and correct AI output.
Quality and delivery: automated testing (Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox or Maestro), CI/CD and release tooling (EAS or Fastlane, GitHub Actions), and crash and performance monitoring (for example Sentry or Crashlytics).
Connected, real-time apps: REST or GraphQL APIs and real-time data (WebSocket, MQTT or push), with solid handling of authentication, offline states and failure cases, and secure handling of sensitive personal data.
Nice to have
Device connectivity: Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi provisioning or other IoT onboarding and pairing flows.
Native and cross-platform breadth: Swift or Kotlin, or Flutter as a second cross-platform framework.
Product and design depth: design-system ownership, analytics and experimentation (feature flags, A/B tests), or user research and usability testing.
AI in the product: LLM-powered or on-device AI features in a consumer app.
Domain: HealthTech, eldercare, smart-home or other privacy-sensitive consumer products (PIPEDA or HIPAA awareness).
How We Work
Build it right, then make it better.
We value people who are curious, hands-on and willing to experiment. Great products come from strong collaboration, fast learning and a real understanding of users. AI is changing how software gets built, and we want people who are excited to be part of that change.
Real impact. There is more room to make a difference here than at a company ten times our size.
